General Summary
The Individual & Planned Giving Manager manages a portfolio of high-capacity prospects and donors and is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive major gift and planned giving fundraising program. This position will work to fulfill the organization’s mission, ensure financial growth, and promote an environment of continuous improvement. The Individual & Planned Giving Manager will provide leadership in conceptualizing, implementing, and evaluating engagement strategies that drive philanthropic revenue from individual donors. The person in this position will work closely with the CDO to ensure smooth alignment of major and planned gift practices and approaches with organizational and departmental priorities. In addition to securing gifts of $10,000 and above to meet annual fundraising goals, this position manages MOWP’s planned giving program, including stewarding planned gift donors, securing new commitments, and overseeing the Jean Wade Legacy Society.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Leads the major and planned giving programs to meet financial goals.
- Uses moves management to Manage a personal portfolio of 150+ high-capacity prospects for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Manages major and planned gift donor cultivation and stewardship strategies, partnering with MOWP board members and leadership staff when appropriate.2
- Leads stewardship planning and activities for individual donors.
- Works with the CDO to implement a short and long-term strategic direction for raising major gifts for operations and the capital campaign with an emphasis on increasing revenue through individual gifts, DAFs, and planned giving.
- Works with the CDO to reach capital campaign fundraising goals, through excellent communication with donors and leadership, database management and campaign tracking, and solicitation pipeline monitoring.
- Works with the Campaign Manager, Database Manager, and Annual Giving Specialist to manage a dynamic pipeline of leadership and major gift prospects and donors and develop and maintain a comprehensive prospect strategy and moves management system
- Collaborates with the CEO and CDO on engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and assists the CDO to manage donor engagement activities of the CEO.
- Works closely with key staff to plan and support leadership, major, and planned giving events.
- Partners with the Annual Giving Specialist on leadership giving strategies and stewardship.
- Works collaboratively across the organization to support fundraising goals, specifically grants, marketing, and the events teams.
- Assists the board and other staff with solicitations by providing portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications
- Works closely with other team members to install a cooperative, strategic and team-oriented work environment, continually identifying ways to enhance the team’s fundraising and operation efforts through team problem solving and collaboration.
- Participates in in-service training and attends required meetings.
- Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People, Inc.
